About Us
About me:
Welcome to Benevolent Bark, where I'm dedicated to making dog training a fun and effective experience. My mission is to help both dogs and their owners lead happy, balanced lives together using scientifically proven, praise-based methods.
My journey with dogs started early, as I've always been a passionate dog lover. From rescuing strays as a kid to over a decade of involvement in dog sports, my love for these animals has only grown. One of my proudest achievements was competing in Dock Diving with my 120 lb Labradoodle "Charlie," reaching an elite level with jumps up to 26 feet. We also excelled in Extreme Vertical and Speed Retrieve. Through my training and competition experiences, I discovered my true passion for dog training and decided to turn it into a career.
I began my professional dog training journey by enrolling in Leerburg University's Principles of Dog Training program, graduating in 2020. This provided me with valuable techniques and honed my skills. In 2023, I continued my education at the Rocky Mountain Regional Dog Trainer Academy, accumulating countless hours of hands-on training and education in the praise-based approach. Witnessing the success and joy it brought to both dogs and owners, I fully embraced this method.
Currently, I share my life with my husband, our Labradoodle and two Standard Poodles . Rocket, my fun-loving clown, is a certified Therapy Dog with titles in Canine Good Citizen, Novice Trick, and Intermediate Trick. Shandy, my sweet 6-year-old girl, holds a Canine Good Citizen title. Charlie, my 120 lbs Labradoodle holds titles in both North American Dock Dogs and Dock Docks and is retired from competition but still enjoys water and swimming for fun.
I'm excited to guide you through the training process and become a part of your team's success!
